Sailaway has
just returned
from the ‘Going
Green Expo’ in
Brisbane, a
Queensland
Government
sponsored
event where
Sailaway was
exhibiting with
Ecotourism
Australia. "Save
money and the
environment with
the latest ideas
that don't cost
the earth!
Sustainable
commerce and
living
makes environmental
& economic good
sense. With the
latest new
"green" ideas
and sustainable
commercial
developments you
can help save
the
environment and
save money!"
Sailaway
received the
highest
environmental
accreditation,
Climate
Change Leader,
from Ecotourism
Australia
becoming 100%
Green Carbon
Neutral sailing
to the Great
Barrier Reef.
Sailaway also
attracts the
growing number
of environmental
conscious
travellers to
our tropical
destination
whilst relaxing
and enjoying
natures own
playground,
particularly in
Domestic and
European
markets.
We strongly
believe a high
quality
interaction
amongst
nature, specifically
our Great
Barrier Reef
with personal
service from
professional and
experienced crew
showcasing our
pristine yet
vulnerable
environment,
is influential
in reducing
carbon
footprints,
becoming more
environmentally
conscious, both
at home and when
we travel. We
must
all consider
our own outlook
with increased
awareness and
appreciation if
we
have any chance to
ease the
pressures facing
our natural
environment.
Environmental
Initiatives
include:
Primarily wind
power and use of
Bio-Diesel,
tenders with Low
Emission 4
stroke
outboards,
recycling and
onboard waste
water treatment
system. Local
produce sourced.
Mandatory Carbon
offsetting
contribution.
Sailaway has a
completely
redesigned and
comprehensive
web site now
live to keep up
to speed as an
industry leader
in the ever
changing times
www.sailawayportdouglas.com
Sailaway has
also just
launched a high
quality 100%
recycled
Australian made
'non glossy'
brochure to
reinforce the
message of a
high quality
product, service
and experience
at one with
nature and
people.
Also new within
the tourism
industry is a
mandatory Carbon
Offsetting
contribution of
$5 for every
passenger,
included within
the ticket
price. All
visitors to the
Idyllic 'Carbon
Neutral’
unspoilt Low
Isles, (closest
part of the
Great Barrier
Reef to mainland
Australia and
the first place
for coral
research)
generate actual
local
reforestation in
ex-cane paddocks
neighbouring
World Heritage
Area. Low Isles
Sailaway has
already
contributed 2
years worth of
own Carbon
